One of Zambia’s rising rappers, Slick Bwoy, has finally entered the music scene with his much-anticipated debut album called ‘The Hard Way’. Slick Bwoy is one of the youngest rappers in the country. He gained attention for solo tracks like “Introvert” and a collaborative EP with Y Cool, tagged ‘Young & Ready’, which was organized by DJ Mzenga Man. Slick Bwoy is known for his rapid growth in the last three years. He got his inspiration from the Zambian lyrical rapper Chef 187. However, Slick Bwoy’s latest album, ‘The Hard Way’, contains 20 songs, which are accompanied by featured artists such as T Low, Dove Zee, Yo Maps, Spartan Makaveli, Coop Ticker, Xain, Slow Poison, Celeb City, Chef 187, Umusepela Crown, Big Dope, Jae Cash, Krummy, Blood Kid, Tiye P, 2Plus 1, Y-Cool, Bow Chase, and James Sakala.
The music producers who participated in this album are: T-Flex, Rich Pro, Snizzy Beatz, Tonny Breezy, Miles Came Along, Pro Exo, and Rizzo Bxss, among others. Zambian music is known for its unique common sound called Zambian Beats or Zed Beats. Zambian Beats is a common genre that combines African sounds like R&B and hip-hop. Hip-hop in Zambia is subjective, but artists like Slapdee, Chef 187, Tommy Dee, Smaq, Macky 2, and Mubby Roux are widely considered among the country’s top and most influential rappers.
