Multi Award Winning Zambian Music Duo – Chanda Na Kay based in the Copperbelt Province released a brand new single titled “Pwaku Akolwa”. Their latest single “Pwaku Akolwa” features Challenger an artist known from the duo Aki Na Popo. The song is already trending on social platforms such as TikTok. It also brought some controversy after the artist Challenger claimed that the song “Pwaku Akolwa” was his song, not Chanda Na Kay. He says he was surprised when the song was uploaded on Chanda Na Kay’s YouTube channel and it was showing he was featured.
Chanda Na Kay quickly responded and this is what they wrote; mwebantu ati pwaku te song yabanyoli? We recently collaborated with an ungrateful artist who approached us with a song containing explicit content. To protect our brand, we declined to contribute a verse. We gave him one of our beats to rewrite a better song, but he failed to deliver. We took pity on him and featured him on one of our tracks instead. Now, he’s claiming ownership of the song’s success. Deep down in his heart, he knows he didn’t write that song – na Lesa Alekumona wechipondo. However, we wish him well, and if he’s genuinely talented, he’ll write another hit song.
